The mission of BNI is to help members increase their business through a structured, positive, and professional “word of mouth” program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality business professionals.
A BNI chapter provides members in variety of occupations an opportunity each week to meet with each other and pass qualified referrals. At weekly meetings, every member has 30 to 45 seconds to introduce their business and share the type of referral they would like. Because only one person from each profession is allowed in each BNI chapter, a person can "lock out" their competition by joining a BNI chapter before their competitors do. BNI is based on this simple philosophy: “Givers gain.”
With over 5,000 chapters worldwide (and over 100 in Maryland & D.C.), BNI is the world's largest networking organization. Last year, members of BNI passed over three million referrals, which generated tens of millions of dollars of new business for each other!
